Dash Bluetooth Stereo
Few days ago I got mine. Generally I'm pretty happy. Well, volume bar is useless - disable it. The rest is great except one that I can't tolerate:
Stereo over bluetooth does not work. Wired headphones playing stereo, but bluetooth that supposed to be stereo is just plain mono.
I've tried few different devices including Motorola DC800, same result. Devices detected as "stereo headset", specs says Dash does support stereo over bluetooth. When connected it's definitely not a headset or hands free profile, sound quality is much better, but no stereo! Both channels playing same sound, no channel separation!
I was not able to find any settings for this or any info on the Web.
Dash is petty serious investment and not working properly bluetooth is a big deal, I can't enjoy my music the way I've expected.
I really hope HTC can sort it out?
I can post Dash system info if any help...

I have a Sony HBH-DS970. I too had the issue where the Stereo is not real stereo but Joint stereo which is a mono times 2.
It is terrible. I modified the registry to increase the buffer of the bluetooth and also changed a value to make it true stereo. Now I have true stereo but the sound quality is still terrible. Any suggestions? |

as far as i know one of the reps that is very adept with a Dash said it would be easier to have WM6 for true stereo bluetooth, also there is way to play music out of ur bluetooth earpiece alone, there is a program on www.surrealnetworks.com it works i have tried it, now i just need to get the headphones, but i am researching cuz i dont want to fall into a problem where it does not work, so anyone that has tested the stereo headphones with WM6 on the dash let me know how that works thanks

I noticed that my nifty new Blue Ant X5 headphones were playing good quality but in mono. I beat my head against a wall trying different settings until I discovered a posting online that told me to change registry setting HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings\UseJointStereo to 0 to disable joint stereo. Now I have stereo and the sound quality is still great too.

I use a plantronics headset, which does work very well as a stereo headset. it's the 590A. It's a little bulky, but i dont mind.
Please advise your device settings and maybe I can help. |
