"Yes, unfortunately, I think I'll have to send it in. I tried the hard reset, and that didn't fix it. One thing I noticed is that the phone blanks out or freezes when the slider is moved. I'm thinking a bad connection between the device and the display. I hate sending stuff in...I wish I could just take a set small screwdrivers and go inside myself. But, hey, that's what the warranty is for.
Thanks"
Yes I know it stinks. I had an AT$T service center, a few towns over so when my Tilt was in warranty I just dropped it off and picked it up the next day.

Ditto. I have an HTC P3600i.
Originally, I was saving pictures to the camera.
I obtained a card, and it kept asking me where I wanted the photos saved.
Eventually, I decided the card would be a good place.
But now I look for the pictures, and I can't find any of them.
The camera has kept counting - it believes they were correctly stored.
The thread here doesn't make it clear whether the original pictures re-appeared after deleting "My Documents" on the storage card, or whether this simply permitted new operations.

My phone was working just fine the other day. It went completely dead. I recharged it. Now it will not go off of the AT&T screen. I tried a hard reset on it now all it will do is show 4 lines going across the whole screen. (red green blue and white) The only way to turn it off is to take the battery out. I don't know if this has anything to do with it, right before it went dead it said that it did not have any memory left. So i went and tried to delete all of my text messages on it. I am Lost with out my baby HTC 8525. I have not had the phone but about 6 months. bought new off of ebay.

Here is how you Officially Get Live Messenger, AIM, and Yahoo Messenger for WM6!
1. On your 8525 Go to At&t Media Net's home (Programs>Internet Explorer>Favorites>Media Net)
2. Under Categories click on "Mail & Messaging"
3. Under Accounts click on "Mobile IM" - When you do this Your 8525 will prompt you for permission to download a 589KB file called "Mobile_IM_HTC8525_4.1.2CAB" - Make sure you check mark the "open file after download" box then click YES.
4. Once the file downloaded it will ask you for permission to install the CAB file and the location to install it. Choose your "device" as the location and "install"
5. Once the CAB installs you will have "Instant Messaging" under your programs. When you choose it you will notice you have all three Messenger services.
It is all FREE and OFFICIAL from AT&T!!!
Enjoy :-)

A couple of days ago, I stored about 25 music files onto a new storage card (already inserted into the 8525). WMP instantly recognized them and placed them in the library. Today, the card and the songs are no longer through WMP. However, I can get to them and play them through File Explorer. Any idea what is causing this?

Help. I had to do a warranty exchange with my AT&T 8525. At the exchange center, they transferred my entire contact list without me asking to. Then, when I set up the new handset for wireless sync with my outlook email, calendar and contact list, my entire contact list doubled (over 2,000 contacts). How do I delete the entire contact list off of the phone without doing it 1 contact at a time? Also, I don't want to do a hard reset because I'll lose all the other programs that I have taken the time to load up.

There is no real easy way inherently to do it unfortunately. How about deleting the extra contacts in the desktop version of Outlook? At least it's easier to navigate. I have heard of applications that clean up contact boxes due to mis-syncs. Though I can't think of the name of those apps right now. I'll repost here again if I think of it.

Well, you guys rock in this post. I took a look at it and found it also. Grant it is digital, but it should of been there. I have up to 3MP, and when I go all the way down to Small, I only get 8x zoom which 10x is posted. So, they are advertising higher then what it can do still. Hmm.

I then put the speaker up to my ear and could hear nothing, however when I turned it around noticed that the sound was coming from the screen. I press the power button and it stops. Any ideas? Is my screen trying to go out?

I did the ROM update last night and everything installed smoothly. The finish button came up and the instructions said the phone would restart itself when you click finish. Instead my phone went the opening ATT screen(before that obnoxious 3g jet sound) and just freezes. In red letters it says "select KITL transport"- USB KITL or Ethernet KITL" below that it says "select KITL Mode" - Active or passive. THE PROBLEM is nothing works, non of the buttons work nor is the touch screen working. The phone just sits there displaying this screen.

"Microsoft develops the drivers for their operating systems, not wireless carriers or device manufacturers."
Not t rue! Microsoft only develops a small minority of drivers. Most drivers ARE developed by device manufacturers!
Microsoft does distribute a lot of drivers with the OS, and with the Windows Update service. They do have a program to test drivers, the Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL); drivers which pass the tests are signed with the WHQL digital certificate.

8525 Won't Load to Password Screen |

Thread started: Feb 6 2008, 8:37 PM EST Watch
I'm in need of assistance. Was looking around on the Internet today and found this place, so I hope my questions can be answered soon.
Quite a bit when I press the e-mail button or IE button on the side of the phone, my e-mail and the Internet webpage I'm on won't come up, so I'll turn my device off, then back on, and everything will be okay again. Upon pressing the e-mail button on the side of the phone, my messages didn't come up... as usual. A friend just then sent me a text, and instead of turning the device off and back on, I decided to hit reply on the touchscreen and send my reply to the person. I noticed my phone acting a bit weird, so I reset it right afterwards.
It's stuck on the Windows Mobile screen, and no matter what I do, it just won't go past that to the password screen. This has happened before, but it would get stuck on the screen previous to Windows Mobile screen, to the very first one.
I let it sit an hour with the battery out, but still no luck. I'm getting a bit worried.
Any suggestions on how to get it to work again?

You may need to perform a master reset on the device. This will delete everything and set it back to factory defaults. Here is how you perform this:
