vbuendia1012 | Routing desitions between WiFi, GPRS and UMTS | 5 | Oct 5 2007, 7:33 PM EDT by Anonymous | ||

Here is my issue:
Whenever I get connected to a WiFi Acceess Point, it takes me a while to start using the WiFi service and the device continues using the GPRS/UMTS network. The way I test it: When I make sure I am connected to the WiFi Access Point (I look at my own access Point and I see my PDA as an active node and I look at my PDA and it is connected) I go to the web page "www.whatismyipaddress" and I see that I am still in the "Cingular" network; it takes me a while to start routing through the WiFi AP, the phone continues using the GPRS/UMTS network. I think the device should be able to make a routing desition and use the WiFi as the preffered network all the time. This network is by far faster and provides very often a free service. I wonder if anyone has any commets. |
