AT&T 8525 Unresponsive Keys Troubleshooting.
Below are some troubleshooting steps that you can use to determine whether or not your device needs to be replaced if is is having trouble with the QWERTY keypad. Your wireless carrier should be using similar steps to determine if the device needs to be replaced.
Check to see if the device is frozen by using the stylus and touch screen. If the device responds to stylus taps, perform a Soft Reset on the device by inserting the stylus into the Reset hole located on the bottom of the device:

Once the Soft reset is complete, retest (retest the unit for a couple of days to see if the issue returns). Check Button/Key assignment; if you have changed a Button setting to "None", it will have no response when pressed. Go to Start>Settings>Buttons.
Remove any 3rd party applications you have on the device by going to Start>Settings>System Tab>Remove Programs.
Highlight the program to be removed and Tap Remove.
Once 3rd party applications have been removed, retest the unit for a few days, (with and without the 3rd party application installed).
If the issue does not happen without the 3rd party application loaded on the device, the issue is likely caused by the application and you will need to contact the application provider for further assistance.
If the issue is not resolved by the Soft Reset or the removal of 3rd party applications, back up all of your data and perform a Hard Reset by pressing and holding the left and right soft keys while performing a Soft Reset:

If the Hard Reset has been done correctly, you will see the following:

Once the Hard Reset is complete and the Customization process has finished, retest the unit again for a few days to see if the issue returns.
If the issue returns, the device should then be considered for an exchange and you should contact your wireless carrier for further assistance.

I have an ATT 8525 with WM5.0. It recently started acting very slow and almost unresponsive. I did move some files like all of the Notes from All Folders onto my SD Card to open up the onboard memory, and actually have about half of the program and storage memory available at this time and no programs running. I have soft rebooted several times. I am trying not to hard reboot. I can't seem to get a good USB connection to Active Sync anymore or try to virus scan or regedit my phone either. I can't seem to find a task manager that gets down to the processes rather than just the running programs.
Has anyone had spyware or a virus do this? Any good freeware for virus or spy scanning on WM5 or 6? Any ideas? Thanks, |

Does anyone have this problem? My camera button (the one on the bottom right of the unit near the stylus) does not activate the camera anymore.

My 8525 has developed a problem where the "I", "K" and "M" keys produce a string of letters each time they are pushed. I've done a hard reset, but that hasn't solved the problem. Am I looking at sending it in for a new keyboard or other repair?

I dropped my phone and was able to put the battery back in place and restart the software. Now I'm unable to do anything with my phone. I've charged it, well I thought I did, the green light never got green it just stayed red and now its just dead. Any suggestions.
