RE: Cingular USB 8525 Modem Driver for Windows Vista Mar 24 2007, 8:12 PM EDT Shancoc60: Did you find an answer to your question? I'm trying to do the same thing (i.e., trying to get my 8525 to work as a modem on vista). It works just fine on XP, but I can't get my Vista computer to recognize and install phone as a modem. RE: Cingular USB 8525 Modem Driver for Windows Vista Mar 25 2007, 5:26 PM EDT No answer yet - one would think that by now a company the size of HTc or Cingular would have developed a driver for Vista - it's the like operating system was a surprise to them or something. RE: Cingular USB 8525 Modem Driver for Windows Vista Mar 29 2007, 1:03 PM EDT IM having the same problem with Tmobile SDA. I have been looking for a while and it seems that there is not a Windows Mobile 5 USB modem driver for windows vista. If you go to HTC website, the HTC S710 comes out in April and has windows mobile 6. It says specifically that it will sync with Vista. So although technically HTC should put out a driver for their devices, I have yet to find ANY windows mobile 5 device that has a Vista compatible USB modem drivers. RE: Cingular USB 8525 Modem Driver for Windows Vista Apr 20 2007, 4:59 PM EDT I share your pain with Vista "Ultimate" and HTC Magician. I see the drivers but likewise get the "unauthorised" message. Other forums have suggesting using a bluetooth DUN until the HTC vista driver is releases, but I can't get the bluetooth DUN working either. RE: Cingular USB 8525 Modem Driver for Windows Vista Tuesday, 10:07 PM EST "Microsoft develops the drivers for their operating systems, not wireless carriers or device manufacturers."Not t rue! Microsoft only develops a small minority of drivers. Most drivers ARE developed by device manufacturers! Microsoft does distribute a lot of drivers with the OS, and with the Windows Update service. They do have a program to test drivers, the Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL); drivers which pass the tests are signed with the WHQL digital certificate.
