Success! Despite TomTom support not being prepared to say whether TomTom will work on the Cingular 8525, (because they haven't tested it themselves in house) , I have successfully loaded TomTom Navigator 6 onto my Cingular 8525.
The Cingular 8525 successfully pairs with the old TomTom private-labelled Bluetooth GPS receiver that I have. And the software works fine with that. There is a problem though, the Cingular 8525 bluetooth does not seem to be able to successfully pair with the new iBlue 737 (a newer and higher spec model with much better battery life due to auto-off functionality). Can htc or Cingular or anyone out there give some advice on how to get the bluetooth on the Cingular 8525 to pair with the iBlue? Is there generally a problem with the Cingular 8525 Bluetooth? My girlfriend's Palm 650 phone's bluetooth phone recognized the iBlue immediately, and was able to pair right away. So it is not the receiver, it's either something up with the way I tried to set up the pairing, or something up with the bluetooth functionality of the phone itself... . |
