    Wing

    T-Mobile Wing
No one at T-Mobile has the answer and HTC tech support referred me here. I dial my office voice mail maybe 10-15 times a day. On my Sprint phone I was able to insert pauses in the dialing. It would dial the number, pause for the voice command, add a string of numbers, pause for the next voice command, and finally put in my password. So I could press 3, for example, and it would take me all the way through to my messages. So far I can not find a way to put in the pauses on the Wing. So I have to press 3 and then wait for the voice command, and then manually put in the next string of numbers, then wait again for the next voice command, and then put in the password. This is time consuming. Anyone know if it can be done on the Wing? If so, how? Thanks, Tom

You can use the * key to put p, w
P will come up by pressing * key twice without a pause
W will come up by pressing * key three times without a pause

Or use the keyboard to put p or w

p = pause, works as a 2 sec pause between dialing numbers
w = wait, when you put w between the numbers you want to dail, while dailing it will pause at w and wait for the user to hit an action key then it'll dial the next numbers.

Anonymous Wing custom text tone? (won't stop) 7 Jul 28 2008, 11:04 AM EDT by Anonymous
Thread started: Mar 26 2008, 3:29 AM EDT  Watch
Ok, so I just bought a Wing like a 2 weeks ago after having a sidekick 3 & slide... huge upgrade :D

Anyways, I'm still getting used to the whole WM6 setup, and I'm having trouble with my text message ring tones. I uploaded a custom 30 second ringtone to the 'Windows' folder so after I go to Settings>Sounds & Notifications>Notifications tab>Event "Messaging: New text message".. I then select the audio file that I want to use when I recieve a new text.

Everything works perfect up until I actually recieve a text, unlike other phones i.e. my Sidekick, when I would get a new text message, the ringtone would go off, but immediatly after the message is opened the sound stops. Not the case with the Wing? When I get a new text on my Wing even after I go to the message and open it up the ringtone's still going off for another 25 seconds, and found the only way to stop it is by hitting the quick volume button on the left all the way down to silent.

This is pretty irritating to have to change my phone to silent EVERY time I get a new text, then having to turn it back up or onto vibrate EVERY time after I'm done. Is there a way to cut off the ringtone when the text is opened... or am I just going to have to settle for a quick little beep?!?! =)
