"I DID IT THE FILE WENT IN THE TEXT MESSGE AVAILABLE TONES BUT IT WOULDNT MAKE ANY SOUND....HOW U TROUBLESHOOT THAT?
"
When I select the file for text messages, it will play about 6 or 7 seven times and then go silent. The file is a a 64 kb .wav, so there should be no problems. What's going on?

"is the H800 Slider supported on the 8125 ? I see that the 8525 does but is the OS the same"
The specs for H800 Slider indicates that it "Works with any brand of Bluetooth 1.1, 1.2 or 2.0 - enabled compatible phone or device that supports “headset” and “hands-free” profiles" so theoretically, if the 8125 supports any of these BT versions, it should work.
Both the 8125 and 8525 originally came with W<5 however, WM6 became available for the 8525 a while ago...the OS's may or not be the same depending on if the 8525 had the new ROM loaded on it.

Are you asking for the device password or the Subsidy Unlock code so that you can use the device with other carriers? If it is the latter, you will need to get that from AT&T/Cingular.

To know more about using the Bluetooth sterio headset with htc 3100 please follow the link below
http://fab007forum.forumotion.com/
you can have to find it there
from there you can have to download the “Bluetooth setup.exe” or “Bluetooth setupu.cab” both theexe file and the cab file is available for download at http://fab007forum.forumotion.com/
yesterday I had downloaded it from http://fab007forum.forumotion.com/ and installed it in my HTC 3100
really it works
its very easy to work with it
there is no configuration needed
first you should turn on your Bluetooth and add you Bluetooth headset
for adding your Bluetooth headset tp your list you should know its password
some Bluetooth headset makers gives the password with the box
but some other uses the password that is four zeros (0000)
after adding you Bluetooth headset
then transfer the file “Bluetooth setup.cab” or “Bluetooth setup.exe” to your phone
then install it on you phone
you can have to find the icon of the installed program on your phones menu
its named as “bluetooth”
then run the program
and then press the start button
you can hear all the sounds from your “smartphone” through your Bluetooth headset till now.
Enjoy it my good friends
Please inform me your responses

Plantronics Headset M214i does not work with 8125. |

I have a Plantronics Headset M214i which works with any 2.5 mm adapter. This works well with my cordless phone but does not work with 8125. Basically I can hear the caller's voice but the caller can't hear my voice (its a one way communication) ? Is the 8125 phone adapter not compatible with all 2.5 mm headsets ?
I am so used to this headset. Is there any workaround to use it with the 8125.

I think this is because the standard 2.5mm communications jacks have an extra contact for the mic connection, if you compare the pin on the 2.5mm adapter to the original jack on the headset that came with your HTC you'll find that the adapter has one less ring. If this is the case and you still want to use your Plantronics headset you'd probably have to get handy with a soldering iron!

i have had my 8125 for about a year and half now and i am leaning towards getting a bj2. i am tired of the weight of the 8125, the slow and internet connection, the touch screen, and the constant restarts. a few friends have the bj1 & bj2 and these phones seem to eliminate the issues i have with the 8125. any have opinions from own experience switching or from reading reviews or just using a friends. they have dropped to 99.99 but am tired of buying phones every year or so i want one that will be good & last.

RE: cingular 8125 V BlackJack II
By: , Jan 21 2008, 7:25 AM EST
I had a Blackjack for about 3 weeks. Quite a few nice software features, can't beat the size & weight. My issue was sound quality. A few of my clients asked if I was in a hall, this using just the phone, no headset. I'd previously used a cell phone and a Dell Axim. I like being able to load Microsoft reader and download books from such polces as Gutenburg Project. I absolutely HATE standing in line, but if I can read, that makes it more tolerable. Can't load Reader on smartphones, of which the blackjack is one. Also a couple types of documents you can only read with the blackjack, no editing. Considering the weight of carrying a Dell AXim PLUS a cell phone, I find the heft of the 8525 to be only a small nuisance when compared to what it can do which the Blackjack can't.
That being said, I spent a good deal of time trying to talk myself INTO keeping the Blackjack. The telephone sound quality was a big issue as I use my cell for business.
I keep my 8525 in my lower smock / jacket pocket at work, bought a mini usb mono earbud ( just haven't found a bluetooth headset I really like ) and snake the wire up to the collar. I keep the earbud in the upper pencil pocket, phone rings, just pop it in my ear, hit the button on the little mic section & talk.
Check out other folks experiences with Blackjack at epinions.com and techies reviews at z-net.com
AT&T lets you try it up to 30 days & return it if you decide you have an issue with the phone. When I took mine back, no guff, no problems.

Touch Screen problem with Cingular 8125 (also hard reset problem) (page: 1 2) |

Thread started: Jun 10 2007, 12:23 PM EDT Watch
My 8125 has worked fine for more than a year. It has been a good phone and I have been pleased. Unfortunately around this last week I started having strange problems with my touch screen. First it started when you would tap a certain place in the screen and the tap would register lower than where you tapped. For example you would tap the # 3 on the phone screen and it would register a 6. If I did a screen align procedure It would get fixed and work well for a while but then it would go back to the problem. Also sometimes the screen does not register the taps all together. I tried the hard reset to see if it can fix the problem but it does not work. I only get a soft reset. Is there another way of doing a hard reset? The worst thing is, when I do the hard reset procedure (and it does a soft reset) I end up in the password screen where I have to enter 4 numbers and if the screen decides not to register taps (which has happened more than once) I am stuck here until it decides to register taps which can be either accurate or the messed up off center taps. I haven't dropped or done anything to the phone. The last change I remember doing was installing .NET in order to install a Sudoku game, but this wasn't last week or near the time I started having problems. It was some time ago. Any help, or if you can point me in a certain direction I would be greatly appreciate it.

RE: Touch Screen problem with Cingular 8125 (also hard reset problem)
By: Anonymous, Jan 3 2008, 9:39 AM EST
I had the same problem with my first 8125. What I found back then was that dust gets into the edges (where the casing meets the screen) and once it accumulates enough, it starts working as a constant touch to the screen, creating misalignment issues. I had to open up my phone, clean off the dust to get it to work. Also, a latest ROM update might also fix some of your issues. Just be careful when you do that. Make sure you know what chip is inside your 8125, a G3 or a G4. Only use the ROM that is meant for your chipset, otherwise you will have an expensive piece of "nothing" in your hands, as they call it...a brick.

"I use iGuidence software and a bluetooth receiver. it works great and only charge wass the cost of the software and BT receiver (no monthly or usage fee)"
Thanks! I'll look into their software -- from what I've seen on their site, it requires internet connectivity, which would be a monthly cost or usag fee. I'll look deeper.
Wonder if this could be used that same way with Microsoft's Streets and Trips?

I am continuously running out of storage memory. I save pictures and down load emails to my storage card. I empty my deleted items in my email box which seems to help some but still low on memory. My programs (2 of 3) that I have installed that did not come with the phone are all stored on my storage card. I see under File explorer, My Device, Windows, Messaging that there are a lot files that look like messages, but I can't open them from the file explorer...says must use application. what application? Email? Are these really old emails? Can I delete them without messing up anything? How can I be sure or open these files...the random numbers and letters don't mean anything to me?
