Bluetooth headset for mp3 playback
Aug 26 2006, 8:08 PM EDT
I would like to use by Bluetooth headset for mp3 playback. Has anyone done this successfully? I can't get it to play for more than a few seconds and then it switches back to the external speakers.

"How can I give my Cingular 8125 full bluetooth capability? Can I purchase software from someone?"try reading the every post on here... as stated you have to have a ROm that has the ad2p profile on your 8125, which means upgrading. And if your looking for some other kind of bluetooth compatibility, jsut go to the xda website listed above to find what you need. |

Does anyone know if the website still has this or if it even works on the Cingular 8125? I am also going to http://www.pocketpchow2.com/ If you have a Windows Mobile Pocket PC Phone or Smartphone, you might also have a Bluetooth headset. You might have also found that you cannot play any audio from the Pocket PC or Smartphone other than the phone. That is because Microsoft did not include the AD2P profile to their profile stack in Windows Mobile 5. Microsoft does include AD2P as an add-on with AKU2, but for some reason most of the carriers had problems in testing so they chose to remove AD2P. Bluetooth is a wireless communications protocol designed for connecting peripheral devices to computers. Ericsson originally created for a wireless means of connecting headsets to mobile phones. What you can do with Bluetooth is defined by the profiles included in the Bluetooth software installed on the device. The most common profile is the one that supports headset communications. File transfer is another profile, as would be OBEX push, which is designed for transmitting "business cards" (contact information) between devices. The Dial-Up Networking (DUN) profile is needed to enable a mobile phone to be used as a modem for computers, and controversially, many mobile providers in the U.S. intentionally do not include that profile. The AD2P profile is designed for playing audio generated by a computing device (PDA, iPod, etc.) in a Bluetooth headset, and this is different than the phone headset profile because it supports stereo audio communications. Yesterday I found BTAudioToggle, which plays all audio on my T-Mobile MDA through my Bluetooth headset, a Motorola H500. The zip file contains three small programs, BTAudioOn.exe, BTAudioOff.exe, and BTAudioToggle.exe.So far I have simply been using File Explorer to open the folder where I copied these files and manually run BTAudioOn to turn on sound, and BTAudioOff to turn it off. |
