Quick tips
- Lithium-Ion batteries fail faster when cycled often and when kept at full charge; be sure to plug your phone into a charger or connect it to a PC via a mini-USB cable (ActiveSync is not needed) only as needed to ensure a days worth of power. Try to avoid charging the phone every day. This can mean the difference between a battery that lasts only 6 months and one that lasts over 2 years.
- Turn off the display when charging; it can make an impressive difference in the charging time.
- If your battery drains so much that the phone turns off by itself, and you cannot get it to charge with a USB connection to a computer (ActiveSync is not needed), try the charger instead, or vice versa.
- If you find that you need to keep re-aligning the touch screen, be sure to wipe the screen clean with a cloth after talking on it. Turning the device all the way off and back on again can also help stabilize the alignment. Dropping the phone also sometimes fixes the alignment, but that's not exactly a good idea. If all else fails, you may need to have it repaired or replaced.
- Turn off WiFi if you rarely use email or other internet services; it uses a noticeable amount of power.
- Turn off Bluetooth if you rarely use it; it can save a bit of power.

Anonymous | Touch Screen problem with Cingular 8125 (also hard reset problem) (page: 1 2) | 26 | Sep 5 2008, 5:51 AM EDT by Anonymous | |

My 8125 has worked fine for more than a year. It has been a good phone and I have been pleased. Unfortunately around this last week I started having strange problems with my touch screen. First it started when you would tap a certain place in the screen and the tap would register lower than where you tapped. For example you would tap the # 3 on the phone screen and it would register a 6. If I did a screen align procedure It would get fixed and work well for a while but then it would go back to the problem. Also sometimes the screen does not register the taps all together. I tried the hard reset to see if it can fix the problem but it does not work. I only get a soft reset. Is there another way of doing a hard reset? The worst thing is, when I do the hard reset procedure (and it does a soft reset) I end up in the password screen where I have to enter 4 numbers and if the screen decides not to register taps (which has happened more than once) I am stuck here until it decides to register taps which can be either accurate or the messed up off center taps. I haven't dropped or done anything to the phone. The last change I remember doing was installing .NET in order to install a Sudoku game, but this wasn't last week or near the time I started having problems. It was some time ago. Any help, or if you can point me in a certain direction I would be greatly appreciate it.
