Dialing an Extension |

aving just converted from a Blackberry, I am having a problem with dialing phone extensions.
I sync my contact database from ACT to the Windows Mobile 5 phone. When I dial a phone # I can select a contact , it dials the primary # but does not leave me any way to select the extension.
the extension is listed next to the phone # i.e. (xxx)555-1212 x123, but when you dial it only dials the primary #.
the Blackberry would pop up a menu to either skip the extension or dial it.
Any help would be great, with over 12K contacts this one would really hurt.

This worked like a champ for me I even set it up to go through phone menus
EX: (123)456-7890pp7pp12345
one of my contacts requires you to press 7 if you know the extension and then enter the extension.

If you're still using the PPC-6700, I've been running this with Helmi_C's Windows Mobile 6.1 and it's been pretty stable. I've upgraded the system so I can run 8gb Mini SD made by patriot bought on NewEgg.com for about $35.00. I use it for my everyday business, and it blows WM5 away. Just buy the card, then go to PPCGeeks.com and use the kitchen rom to upgrade. If all else fails, you can always flash back to the original OS which is on the sprint site.

Could you tell me which version? We have Palm 700s running anthavpn but just inherited an HTC Touch with Windows Mobile 6.0. the Anthasoft web site does not show a compatible product.

is a great free program that allows you to convert .mpg video's into .wmv's so you can watch recorded tv show's and movies on your phone. I WISH HTC would make a new phone that uses the OLD 3.5 inch screen with all the functionality of this phone, but it just doesn't seem like it will ever happen. They have done it before why won't they do it again. I know "The phone's too big" Waaaaaaaaa I don't like holding a big phone to my ear. That's what blue tooth ear buds are for.

Does anybody know how to insert a "Hard Pause" or "Wait" command when storing a number for automated dialling. I regularly book couriers, so use an automated system, and want to store the numbers and play them automatically once the courier firms phone system answers.

I've set this up on 4 phones now. Use a comma and it pauses for about 2 seconds for each comma.

So we all know about using the usb port to charge the battery and sync with our pcs, but can we hook up anything else to it? What about a mouse, keyboard, flash drive, joystick, etc? Is it just a driver issue, or is this not really a general purpose usb port?
I don't really feel like spending $40 on a bluetooth mouse when I have dozens of old usb mice!

Caps lock and Symbol lock Indicator needed! |

One of the biggest issues with the hard keyboard input device is there is no indicator to determine if Caps or the Symbol keys are locked.
HTC, please add this to the device, and make it a cab file so users can add it with out a rom upgrade.
Thanks In Advance..

"Hi,
You should be able to enable this via the registry. The key is:
\HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd
Create the registry entry called EnableIndicator and assign the DWORD value of 1
Hope this helps!
Rob Knight."
Changing the dword value to 1 does not affect anything! I have done extensive research and I have come to the conclusion that the Caps and Symbol lock is done in hardware on the keyboard! This means there will never be a fix!
HTC please confirm this for me.
Chris

Importing contacts from Outlook |

Thread started: Sep 14 2006, 6:09 AM EDT Watch
I have imported (synchronised) my contacts from Outlook, but all of the phone numbers don't work when dialled from the phone. All of the phone numbers show on the phone are in the international format, i.e. +12 (34) 5678901. I've done some testing and it is the country code preceeded with the "+" symbol that is the problem. The area code starting in brackets is ok. Without editing each contact, does anybody know how I may be able to tell the phone to ignore the country code?

RE: changing EVDO mode from data priority to voice priority
By: Anonymous, Aug 22 2006, 5:15 PM EDT
Nope, the Apache never incorporated this feature for some reason. By default, as long as you are in an EV-DO coverage area, your phone calls should interrupt the data stream to allow voice calls to come through. However, all units sold with a manufacture date of April, 2006 or later have a known bug which disables this function. As of right now, there is no fix for this. There may yet be another ROM update for this phone down the line, but preliminary guesses are that we wont see it till early next year, at best. We can only hope that UTStarcomm/Audiovox would find a way to implement the data/voice priority switch into its new ROM, if we end up with such an update!

The only thing you can't do with this phone that you can do with a computer is anything that requires you to physically use a cd or a dvd. You can remote into a computer and rip CD's and DVD's but you can't hook up a drive to the phone. You can even buy a bluetooth mouse and keyboard for the phone if you desire
