Echo issue for TILT and Cadillac STS Sunday, 11:17 PM EDT Here is the info from cadillacowners.com for the echo issue. 02-17-08, 10:51 AM bobkahnjci Cadillac Owners Member Cadillac(s): Cadillac Join Date: Jan 2008 Posts: 25 Casino Cash: $1010 iTrader: (0) 05 STS Bluetooth Echo Problems! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I just bought a used 05 STS and the bluetooth phone feature is driving me nuts. I can't use it because when I do the person on the other end complains that they can hear their voice loud and clear, seconds after they talk! Anybody know how to fix this problem?? Turn the volume down as low as you can when using bluetooth. The sound is being picked up by the microphone and retransmitted back to the caller. I guess this system was designed before they knew about echo cancellation. Actually I find it helps shorten conversations while I am driving and if I get a call from someone I don't want to talk to I just turn the volume up loud and they usually hang up. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I believe that if you do a search that there was a thread regarding a software fix that supposedly helped with the echo problem. However, it also resets the nav system and so you have to reprogram everything all over again. If I rememeber, the "improvement" was not real clear cut either. Search under Navigation and Blue tooth. same TSB I just reposted here: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...nfig-menu.html (CONFIG Menu) dunno how effective it is for this but I'm planning to get it done because callers say talking on the Bluetooth sounds "far away" Do you find this valuable? |
