Call volume on Bluetooth device
Jan 11 2008, 5:34 PM EST
Is anyone having a problem with, (and hopefully finding a fix for) the unbearably low volume when on a call through Bluetooth? I am using the AT&T Tilt version, with a car equipped with the Microsoft SYNC Bluetooth. The car worked fine with my previous phone, but with the Tilt, I have to turn the radio volume up all the way to hear a caller. Any help is appreciated! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Dumb question, but have you tried turning the volume all the way up on the phone and your headset? Sometimes I have to turn mine down because it is too loud. 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Yes as well, volume is all the way up on the device, doesn't seem to affect the volume on the bluetooth speaker. Do you find this valuable?

Yes I have AT&T Tilt, and a Samsung WEP200 Bluetooth, and I can't hear $@@%.... Both the HTC is set to the highest volume, and so is my WEP200... it's way too low... anyone have a software that can increase the bluetooth volume? Do you find this valuable?

I am using the Jawbone on mine. I will admit that it is a little low, but when cranked up all the way, I can hear callers fine. Do you find this valuable?

I also use the Jawbone. With volume all the way on both, I can hear OK, but much lower than my previous phone and the same headset. When using the Ford Sync connection, it is unbearable. Still looking for anyone who has tweaked the bluetooth volume. Do you find this valuable?

I have the same problem on my Motorola T605 Bluetooth 2 car kit and on every bluetooth headset I tried. In most cases you can hardly hear the caller, especially in a car. This has been an issue since this phone came out and I have been promised time and again by HTC support that a software download would be avaiable long ago. I love everything else about the Tilt, but the Bluetooth issue is a discrase. I previously had a Samsung I730 on Verizon and it worked great, two to three times the Bluetooth receive volume. We didn't get a "give away" phone, this is an expensive top of the line phone. Maybe AT&T shoud be threatened with a class action law suit like the one that Palm just lost for excessive breakdowns on the 600 and 650. Do you find this valuable?

It seems that neither AT&T or HTC have any intention of correcting the problem even though HTC support promised me 6 weeks ago that a fix would be available in a few days.. They probably just plan on correcting it in the next model phone. It will probably take a class action law suit to get any results. As much as I love the Tilt I would have given it back during the 30 day trial if I knew they wouldn't fix the Blue Tooth. Do you find this valuable?

i experienced the same low volume problem with my 8925 and Jabra JX10 headset. i wasnt sure if it was a tilt or headset issue so i ordered a set of ear gels to see if it would help any. now i have to turn the volume way down. Do you find this valuable?

did you order the ear gels? i called Jabra about the volume issue and they sent me 1/2 dozen of them. it did help in the volume department; but still could use more volume when driving down the road. Do you find this valuable?

yeah, i had to order them. they said they would send me some free ear hooks but i had to pay for the gels. i found that you no longer need the hooks when using the gels.

using the gels i no longer have a problem hearing in my noisy car (full exhaust) or any noisy environment for that matter. like i said before, i had to turn the volume down for a change

Has anyone installed the new version 1.62.502.0 AT&T Tilt ROM? Does it solve the issue of low volume on either a bluetooth headset or Car kit? The Tilt is a great PDA except for the low bluetooth volume. Do you find this valuable?

I updated the ROM and there was no noticeable difference on my car. I did see one change, on the Jawbone headset, which was not an improvement. Before, I could turn the volume all the way up on the jawbone, it has five levels and also turn up the volume on the phone. Now, when I change the level on the jawbone, it automatically changes the level on the phone simultaneously, so I've lost the extra control. I thought this ROM update was supposed to IMPROVE things, not %$#@ them up! Do you find this valuable?

I used to have a Nokia bluetooth headset for my Att Tilt and the volume seemed low no matter what I did. I just recently bought the BlueAnt Z9 and I love it. The volume is great. I even have to turn it down. Do you find this valuable?
