I just wanted to share some of my experiences with the v2.15 ROM update...
I flashed my phone without any troubles what so ever, but within a few minutes I was unable to use most of the buttons on the front of the phone (ie, the soft buttons, the ok button, the messaging button, the IE button, the Windows key, and both phone buttons).
Multiple soft and hard resets produced no positive effects. Re-flashing the phone with the v2.15 ROM didn't do anything either. I even tried flashing the unit back to the shipping ROM (v1.34), but I only experienced the 260 error...
After calling AT&T and explaining what the update did to the phone, they replaced it with no questions asked.
Incidentally, I was able to get the Internet Connection sharing working without much trouble using a Bluetooth PAN connection and Windows Vista Business (IBM Thinkpad x60). It required a few more steps than using the phone as a modem, so I think the ROM update dimished productivity.
Unless you need the Push to Talk feature, there isn't anything useful in the update. The new ROM trashed my phone and the Internet Connection sharing is a slight pain. I would strongly recommend avoiding the v2.15 update....
