How to transfer saved text messages from my old Mogul to my new Touch?

Does anyone know where the text messages are stored on the HTC Mogul and or the HTC Touch? I found a folder in the Windows folder of the device called "Messaging" and it looked like the right thing, but when I transfered the contents to my touch nothing happened. I'm thinking maybe there is an index file I need to transfer as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
