Can the memory be adjusted from storage to program? Feb 23 2008, 9:17 AM EST Is there a way to adjust the memory in WM6 from storage to program memory? In older versions of WM there was a slider in the memory settings in which you could manually adjust how much memory is available for either programs or storage. It is not there in WM6. Any way to adjust it another way? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

RE: Can the memory be adjusted from storage to program? Apr 3 2008, 12:53 PM EDT No this is not possible. The reason is that the storage memory is now ROM or non-volatile memory, which was introduced in WM5. This gave users the ability to save information on their device and if the battery died, it would remain. The reason ROM cannot be used to run applications is that it is slower than RAM is. Here is a great explanation that the Windows Mobile Team has on their blog site: http://blogs.msdn.com/windowsmobile/archive/2005/08/19/453784.aspx Do you find this valuable? |
