I keep seeing that this phone supports Ringer ID (Distinctive ring) but I can't find anyway to select it. Is additional software required?

I'm looking into getting a smart phone. I'm on a Windows PC at work but a Mac at home - is this phone compatible with both? Can I sync it with both computers to access work and personal email?

I have been told this is a digitizer issue and the screen needs to be replaced. Is there a step by step for this process? I have also been told that doing this myself will void warrenty. What if I don't care? Is there anywhere to get the information?

Have the Cingular and Verizon versions of this HTC PDA phone. Need to get holsters that stay hooked to my belt. Any pointers to vendors who sell (solid, secure) holsters? Thanks in advance.

Hi - I have basically no experience with tech stuff so am flying blind. Problem I am having is that I am getting my emails from a gmail account - they are sending and receiving fine - but I can't seem to get the phone to give me either an audible or vibrate announcement that an email has arrive. I am using gmail via internet as I want to get emails much quicker than the normal timeframe verizon syncs - begins 15 minutes and incrementally reduces. Does anyone know how to get my pda to notify me when there is an email. Thanks

"Hi Rainman76
Thanks so much - I have it working - but with one strange little quirk. If I have my windows live inbox open - then the email comes but there is no announcement audible or vibrate. But if I have my today screen open - but not the inbox - then I get the audible vibrate announcement. Is there any way you know to make the annoucement happen even if the inbox is open?
Thank you "
Hmmm, I have never really thought about that one, since I usually close my email application when I am done reading it. Let me think on that one a little.

I want to use it in other countries, specially in Angola and Brazil. Is it possible to activate the service from other carriers. I want to have 2 numbers on it, one from Brazil and another one from Angola. Both CDMA. Can anyone inform me if Verizon locks it?

Actually the camcorder can record an unlimited amount of time. You set it to save on the SD card and it can record as long as there is storage memory. With a 2 gig card I recorded my daughters dance recital which was over an hour.

RE: Built in Camcorder,

I've had my XV6700 for about a month, and have taken somewhere around 50 still pics and 10 or so video clips. Through the last two days, every time I try to shoot a picture I get a message that the capture failed because there's not enough memory. However, I have the camera set to capture to the SD card, and that is a 1 gig card containing only three movies of 3/4 to 1M each and half a dozen stills at 40 to 175K apiece. Has anyone else seen this problem? Any suggestions for how to fix?

Wondering if this is available in the UK, I can't seem to find much about it with UK reference. If it's not, anyone got any idea when it might be?
Cheers

The mobile network this phone is designed for is incompatible with european systems. The wizard or the hermes if available in the uk yet are your best bets.
