httpmail is a software program that allows accessing hotmail or any http mail in the inbox of win mobile 6.0. It works great. It cost 10 dollars. Go to pocketgear.com and search for httpmail. Do you find this valuable?

Or, you can download a CAB to install the new Windows Live Services that were supposed to be included in most WM6 ROMs. AT&T has removed it, but I have found the CAB file over at XDA-Developers.com. I have put it on my 8525 when it had WM5 and when I upgraded to WM6. It will work on both. Here is the link:

This version of Windows Live Mail has hotmail and will support push email. I have it working on my AT&T Tilt. It also adds the newer Windows Live Messenger. The nice thing about this is that it now allows for emoticons, 3 way messenger sessions, voice clips, and file transmissions through messenger.

"I just updated my ATT 8525 to windows mobile 6.0 from your HTA America website.
I am extremely disappointed that there is NO MSN software on the new ROM update. I can not get my hotmail to my inbox even though I can get it in the browser on mobile.msn.com.
There is NO windows Live software on the upgrade to access hotmail outside of the browser. Anyone knows how I can access my hotmail on the Win Mobile 6.0 upgrade ATT8525 without using the pocket Internet Explorer?"
Did you get Hotmail working on your 8525? If so, how? I am trying to figure this out. I downloaded a CAB from another link but can't figure out how to make it run. Help. Do you find this valuable?

You have to save the .CAB file on your 8525. Once you save it on there, open the file from the file explorer on the 8525, it will then self-install onto your 8525 and should work fine. Do you find this valuable?

I contacted Palm customer support via chat. They directed me toward XpressMail. Once installed and set up, It adds the hotmail account to your accounts list. It was very easy and is working well. XpressMail should be on the today screen. If not, from the today screen, click menu | preferences | today settings. Make sure "get xpress mail" is check marked. Go back to today screen and click the link down towards the bottom. Download, setup, and you should be good to go. I spent time looking for the answer to this online and nothing ever pointed me towards "XpressMail". Glad I contacted Palm customer support. I figured XpressMail was just another email program and I avoided it out of disinterest.

Transcript of setup instructions from customer support chat...

Navigate to XpressMail in Start-Programs. Type in your mobile phone number. Click Next
2. Select Portal or ISP. Click Next.
3. Select Hotmail. Click Next.
4. Select hotmail.com
Click Next
5. Accept the Terms of Use.
6. Type in your email address and password. Click Next.
7. Click Register. Hit OK.
8. Now you can access Hotmail directly from your devices’ home screen.

Yes, XpressMail works, but the Windows Live Services file I mentioned adds one thing that XpressMail doesn't have, Push Email. When using the Windows Live, the minute an email hits the hotmail server, it will automatically show up on your device. XpressMail pulls emails down based on a timed schedule from a pre-defined list that you can choose from. While XpressMail works well, Live Services adds more functionality. It also gives you Live Messenger which works off of the Wi-Fi or data plan as opposed to the OZ IM client which works off of the Text Messaging service. This can get pricey if you don't have a text messaging plan. Do you find this valuable?

HI. I was looking for Windows live as well, and was able to locate the necessary file online. You can try the following link:

Hope this helps...

An AT&T customer support rep stated that Xpress mail doesn't work with windows mobile 6 . Like a bumd A#* I installed it anyway because for the moment I was able to send and recieve E mail. Well low and be hold my phone froze ! It took a hard reset and an I told you so to realize they were right.
