Quick tips

  • Lithium-Ion batteries fail faster when cycled often and when kept at full voltage;charge; be sure to plug your phone into a charger or connect it to a PC via a mini-USB cable (ActiveSync is not needed) only as needed to ensure a days worth of power. Try to avoid charging the phone every day. This can mean the difference between a battery that lasts only 6 months and one that lasts over 2 years.
  • Turn off the display when charging; it can make an impressive difference in the charging time.
  • If your battery drains so much that the phone turns off by itself, and you cannot get it to charge with a USB connection to a computer (ActiveSync is not needed), try the charger instead, or vice versa.
  • If you find that you need to keep re-aligning the touch screen, be sure to wipe the screen clean with a cloth after talking on it. Turning the device all the way off and back on again can also help stabilize the alignment. Dropping the phone also sometimes fixes the alignment, but that's not exactly a good idea. If all else fails, you may need to have it repaired or replaced.
  • Turn off WiFi if you rarely use email or other internet services; it uses a noticeable amount of power.
  • Turn off Bluetooth if you rarely use it; it can save a bit of power.
