Music over your bluetooth?
Jun 26 2008, 3:11 AM EDT
I have tried many times have my shadow play music over my bluetooth headset but I still haven't had any luck properly connecting it. I have tried many times to connect and reconnect my headset so I can set it to wireless stereo but it doesn't allow me to choose the option. I have a Motorola H500, I know it can play music through it because I have had one of my reminders on my Shadow play my specialized ring tone for that reminder through my head set and also when I try to do voice dialing, if I play the music at that instant, I can hear my music for about 5 seconds until voice dialing cuts out. If anyone can please help me and give me a to fix this problem? Thanks. Do you find this valuable?

It's not a question of your headset being able to play music, it's a matter of the format the phone is using to send the music. I can't speak for your phone specifically, but most will only "play music" using Bluetooth A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Protocol). To receive that, your headset has to support A2DP as well, and your H500 doesn't.

For regular phone calls, most phones will use the Bluetooth Headset or Handsfree protocol; yours apparently also sends ringtones via that channel... but the music player, I suspect, will only use A2DP.

So... for this to work, you need a headset that supports A2DP, which will likely limit you to a stereo set (like the MOTO ROKR).

I also had a problem connecting and I called HTC support (not my carrier they were useless) and he told me to update my ROM. I did that and now my HTC 5800 picks up bluetooth no problem. Before it couldnt see anything. Not sure if this is the same issue but thought it might help. Do you find this valuable?
