Tornado Tips & Tricks

Sometimes we need a helping hand to get our smartphone running on all cylinders. Many of us have either lost the manual or it's lining your bird cage. Please help lower the collective blood pressure of the SDA user community by adding your "How To's". Remember what comes around goes around, and the next problem solved might be your own.

Quick Tips & How-Tos:

How to lock the SDA

  • Hold the 'End Call' key for 2 to 3 seconds and the phone will lock. This will work even if you have a program open (e.g., Contacts, Email, etc.) and is a lot easier than pushing the power button and selecting the 'lock' option.

How to hide SIM Contacts
  • Go to Settings > Phone > Call Options and uncheck 'Show SIM contacts'. This avoids duplicate entries if you store contacts on the phone and not just the SIM card.

How to switch from Normal to Silent and back

  • Press and hold the lower right button "#" for two seconds. You will toggle between Silent and Normal modes.

How to quickly enable and disable Speakerphone

  • Press and hold the green "Send" button for two seconds during a call. You will toggle between Speakerphone and Handset. (Does not work with Handsfree [bluetooth or wired] headset.)
