VR Market Share
In 2016–2017 the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift split premium PC VR roughly equally (the Vive sold about 420,000 units in 2016). After the Oculus Quest (2019) and Quest 2 (2020, $299), Meta took 75–90% of the market. HTC switched to the enterprise segment (Focus 3) and the premium tier (XR Elite, Focus Vision); its consumer market share is a few percent. The Vive Pro 2 and Focus Vision remain popular in the VRChat community and in sim racing thanks to Lighthouse compatibility.
