Until 2006, HTC sold nothing under its own name: devices were produced under the brands of carriers and distributors, and HTC labeled them with codenames drawn from animals and geographic names (Wallaby, Himalaya, Blue Angel, Universal, Hermes, Kaiser, Diamond, Raphael, Leo).

Windows Phone (2010–2014)
After Windows Mobile 6.5, HTC was one of the three launch partners for Windows Phone 7 (with Samsung and LG):
- 2010: HTC HD7 (T-Mobile), 7 Mozart, 7 Trophy, 7 Surround, 7 Pro (the Arrive at Sprint).
- 2011: HTC Titan (4.7"), Radar.
- 2012: Windows Phone 8X and 8S, with bright polycarbonate bodies and Beats Audio; Microsoft called the 8X the "signature phone" for WP8.
- 2014: HTC One (M8) for Windows, the only flagship on WP8.1 in metal.
After that, HTC finally focused on Android.
