I just bought a wing a 1y ear ago (probably less)
but I just noticed thay My faves are gone from my main screen and from my settings
and it wont sync trough USB
i havent droped it or damaged it in any way
any suggestion
oh and my warranty is over and i have no insurace

For sometime i was thinking of getting a Iphone theme for the Atlas A.K.A Wing. I found a website that only cost $9.95 ( http://www.iphonethemeforppc.com/?gclid=CJTioa_pn5MCFQFjxwoddWLiwQ ), which i purchased and downloaded to my 4gb Memory at first to save program space and that didnt work . Then i saved it to my Atlas A.K.A Wing main memory and still didnt work not enough memory. DOSE NE1 knows how to install it need help HELP PLZ. By the way I tried contacting the website owner for help still no response. They do have Step by Step installation but acts funny on the handset.

At the end, just substitute iFonz for Pointui if you really prefer that sort of interface.

if it's t-mobile's wing... all you have to do is do a master reset to get the OZ client on the devce... to ensure that you don't loose any info sync it to your computer first

Connects to "BT Audio" only if soft reset is performed. will only connect upon initial pairing, Phone calls are able to be made while connected to "BT Audio", "no data" is associated with the phone call: after connection is terminated, the connection will not automatically establish, re-"pairing" must again take place to obtain a connection. Under no condition am I able to obtain a Bluetooth connection through the "BT Phone" controls; "connection error" or "invalid device" is displayed. The Wing behaves as if the connection has been made. I have been unsuccessful finding a solution from T-Mobile or Pioneer Electronics, they tell me "sorry the Wing is not compatible, there is nothing we can do for you". anyone have a clue how to fix or patch?

How many people have an unlocked Atlas A.K.A Wing? Do you use your Wing in other networks? How is your signal with those other network? I think it would be nice if they make a black chip so that instead of changing sim cards, you can change network right from the phone. Dose anyone know if they created one?

I was running MemMaid on my tmobile wing. Went under the setting were you can switch memory not sure what it is called and clicked to enable the phone asked for a soft reset and I pressed yes. The phone reset and now runs through the tmobile screen and windows mobile screen and freezes while loading my home screen. Freezes at different points while loading screen but still freezes. Well I don't even know if I would call it freezing I can put phone to sleep and bring it back, key pads light up it connects to power/cpu but will not connect to active/sync. Tryed removing sim card and sd card. I've also tried to hard reset it comes up on a screen with a red bar green bar and blue bar but does nothing else.
Not sure if I'm hard resetting correctly and I've seen something on running in boot mode but not sure how to do so.
Any help would be great. Thank You

I had the same problem today with the Memmaid (bad programm). I did a HARD RESET pressing both (-) left n right keys plus start button. screen asked to format and install original windows and I gave the OK. All working well now. but I am installing All programs again with the Active Sync. ( I did all without the memory card but with the sim card.)

I've used the wing, but currently prefer the Shadow (with the software update). But, I thought I would pass this along. For anyone looking for a new Wing, there's a way to get a Wing for $99 (with a new line of service). Not sure how long it runs, but I know it's working now. It's similar to the Shadow promo, but here's what you do:

I saw that but you can't just sign up for a regular plan. You have to also sign up for the internet at 19.99 per month.

I broke my screen somehow. From what T-mobile customer service told me was that the ink from the plasma is damaged and that I need to send it to the manufacturer's because I don't have the insurance on the phone. Does anyone know if it can be fixed/ or replaced by the manufacturer. It's the Wing. Dam I love d that phone!!

I would be alittle caution not just for the phone, but since those MicroSD card are costly. Reason being i purchased one and some of the files became corrupted unable to use and delete but still able to use the card. I tossed my card away.

Wings are great, but they can be way better. It's not hard. They need three tweaks:
1. A new touch screen interface that is fast, friendly and doesn't require a stylus to make a call
2. More memory. It's hard to do much in the 6MB left us by HTC
3. More speed. Most Wings can run a lot faster than they do.
The way I suggest you approach this full Wing makeover is 2, 3, 1. Free up memory, make it fast, then add in a great new interface. By the way, all this is totally free. If there is interest, I will post how all this is done. Let me know.

Paul, just want to let you know that I figured it all out. Took me a few times to get the pagepool to work but I think it was the fault of my laptop. I am very thankfull for all of your steps! I was absolutely IN LOVE with my MDA...it was fast, responsive and the physical aspects of the phone were very user friendly (opened to the right instead of left, soft keys and main keys were on the right for right-handed people, soft keys on the Querty keyboard were NOT embedded into the letters so that you don't accidentally hit the "send" soft key when reaching for the "T" or the "R", etc) and the free program memory was always between 16 and 23MB. I just knew the "upgrade" to the Wing was really going to be a "downgrade" b/c of its performance. Well, with a little research, bravery and your posts I've been able to get my Wing running ALMOST as good as my old MDA. Thank you very much.
Wanted to let the group know that I opted for the Spb Mobile Shell for my user interface instead of iFonz and love it, so that's another option.
Thanks for helping us to get our Wing to perform the way it should've always.
BY THE WAY - If anyone out there knows a registry tweak for the soft "send" key on the Querty keyboard that's embedded between the "T" and "R", please post!!! :.)

ok i just got my wing a couple weeks ago, after a few messages bout low memory i purchased a 1gb storage card, i immediately transfered a couple programs, music, and pics over to it. I really don't have much running on my phone no knew programs on the main storage and only about 80mb on the 1 gb storage card. So i thought i was good to go! so i sync a small 40mb vid from my pc to phone, go to work, i have some funny stuff to show my co-workers.i keep trying to open the video, it plays for a second then i get some message about unable.because of memory.i can't recall the exact message. so i had to close and press play about 5 times b4 the vid would finally play, when it played it played very slow, staggering/moving in slow motion. I stopped all programs except windows media in task manager.
oh, and how about the time i was ready to record (video) of some co-workers before Christmas break and I got the unable to open camera because of memory message.nothing was running in task manager, i had to power off phone and then i was able to record my restless co-workers who didn't want to be on camera from the start.
Is there any way around all these memory problems with the Wing? i don't use many programs and all pics, small vids, ringtones are on my 1gb storage card, i get memory error messages even when internet explorer and messages aren't running.

I know the West Coast Product Rep for HTC and she confirmed that T-Mobile will be releasing a fix for the Wing on February 2nd, 2008!!!!!!!!!!! It was supposed to be released in December 2007, but they decided to add more to it, to fix more problems, including the known memory problems. "
It's now May and I'm unable to locate the fix on TMobile's website, by searching or surfing for it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I just bought a t mobile wing which I have unlocked and am using on the Rogers network in Canada. I have tried to use the WI FI setting on the phone but I'm either getting a very week signal or I get a message "THERE IS A PROBLEM CONNECTING THE GPRS SERVICE IN YOUR REGISTERED HOME NETWORK" is this a setting on the phone? is this something that Rogers can fix? I just want to be able to use WIFI to connect to the internet and download some game and ring tones. Can some one help me PLEASE?

Find someone that has an active tmobile account. Have them call the IMEI number in that is located under the battery. Tell them that you are going out of the country and you need to have the phone unlocked so it can be used outside of the country.

When deleting preloaded ringtones (ex: /Windows/Rings/X'mas song) and images (ex: /My Documents/My Pictures/Birthday_gift) it give a warning ...is a system file. If you remove it, your device or one or your progams may no longer work correctly.
I want to know how safe it is to go a head and delete these. I assume it is quite safe. Didn't know if anyone has deleted them already and had no problems or if anyone knew of any you shouldn't delete.

If you are only deleting the ring and pics, you will be fine. I have them all deleted from my Tilt to make room for my custom tones and pics.

I can't get any sound to come out of the speaker (not the ear speaker where you here people the back speaker). I can't hear the ringer or anything else that comes out of that speaker. I have had 3 wings and they have all done this, but usually I just turn it off and then restart it and the sound works again, but not this time. I have even performed a full system reset.
Anyone have a solution?

I have similar problem in HTC Touch Cruise. I noticed one thing before this problem happens. Activesync start by itself when you received any SMS/MMS. The phone freezes - you do net hear the caller and even your ringer. You need to do soft reset. This seems to be a common problem in WM6. Any solution is highly appreciated.

When my Wing(Herald) waas in perfect condition with all the software i needed, i performed a full system backup using HTC Backup 3.1. Then when i was experimenting around, i screwed up with some things, so i thought i'll just Hard reset and then restore the backup. But when i did hard reset and downloaded the utitlity again and went to the backup file it started to restore the data, but at 2% is just stopped and performed a soft reset, and noone of my prgrams returned. What can i do to restore my data???????

I've browsed the maunal and didn't see anything about using mp3's as ringtones. Can someone help me or guide me in the right direction please. Thanks.

Ok, on your 5800, locate the file (using File Explorer) that you want to set as the ringtone and once you have it highlighted, tap Menu>Edit>Copy. Then go to My Documents>My Ringtones and tap Menu>Edit>Paste.
Then that file should be available to set as your ringtone.
