ive have the same problem, but chillaxxxx cos i figured it out here is how u take ur music and make it a ringtone..... u ready?
first sync the music onto the phone. then u go into the storage device (microSD card) and highlight the song u want. then u go to MENU, EDIT, COPY and hit COPY. once uve done this, you go back into the same menu that u were just in, scroll down to the bottom and select MY DEVICE, from there u go to APPLICATION DATA, then go to SOUNDS, once u are in sounds press MENU, EDIT, AND PASTE. once uve done this. follow the steps from above, and u will find that your song is now in the list and can be selected :D 3  out of 3 found this valuable.
