Die US-Version des HTC Magic bei T-Mobile (August 2009). Sie hatte ein verkleinertes Kinn und ein „Personalisierungs“-Ökosystem: farbige Gehäuse, Hüllen, Gravur. Das myTouch 3G 1.2 (November 2009) bekam einen 3,5-mm-Anschluss. Das erste Android-Gerät von T-Mobile ohne Tastatur und eines der meistverkauften Android-Geräte des Jahres 2009 in den USA.

Das HTC Magic ist nach dem HTC Dream das zweite Seriengerät mit dem Betriebssystem Android. Der wesentliche Unterschied zwischen den beiden Smartphones ist, dass das HTC Magic keine ausziehbare konventionelle Tastatur hat. Deshalb fällt das HTC Magic flacher und leichter aus.
