Clearing Bluetooth Ports

I connect my HTC phone to my GPS but when I try to connect to another GPS I am forced to choose another COM port in the HTC until most of them becomes used up.

When I remove the previous GPS device from the list...the COM port that it used can no longer be used. How do I make these ports available to be used again in the Bluetooth settings of the HTC?
