Changing the P3400 keypad

I recently bought a P3400. The keypad sucks, Gray background and all that. I want a Touch type keypad. I managed to modify the keypad .png files to colors that I like (close to Touch). But I am unable to overwrite the files on the P3400 (these are in the Windows folder and are marked read only.). Does anyone know a solution for this- either some skin overlay or a way to overwrite those files?
