Guys, i've seen my diamond, and i just can't find GOOGLE MAPS in it

if anybody got the same problem, or somebody knows the solution, please post here

man i don't know why, but this phone that i bought has not GOOGLE MAPS in PROGRAMS.. i upgraded my room for 1.93.401.2 and it keep haven't GOOGLE MAPS in PROGRAMS. I don't know more what to do. Thanks for help

Hey bro, thanks, i found it on GOOGLE under the name ''GOOGLE MAPS POCKET", then it gave me a list sites where i can dowload it...

But at the same time i was happy i got sad, i could not able the GPS on google maps, settings are managed by windows on a COM 4, but it don't work.. Well well... Somebody please help here again, this phone is freaking me out!!!

If any body has the same problem, or for any reason want to download GOOGLE MAPS POCKET...

Yo Fernando!

I'm poking around on an 8125. It does not have an onboard gps chip. However, I have run across a bluetooth gps locator. That I remember. In the setup discovery part, the initial discovery set it at com6. There was a pulldown for other com settings in properties of bluetooth devices.

Caveats:
If inside it takes forever to lock onto some satalites.

If using point to point directions, it will connect to GPRS/G3/EDGE if your not watching at an unexpected data billing rate. If you have an unlimited plan, cool who cares. If not? Open your monthly statement with asbestos gloves.

Pluses:
Pretty blonde women always come up at the mall and ask ,"where am I".
The 1200 meter tower best guess is nice but no cigar if your lost down town.

Post Scriptum:
Just an aside thought, what are the options for genuine GPS software that will run on a WinMo5 8125 from the 2GB mini SD card? That I have not tried yet.

Turn left 1200 feet. Bunny farm ahead 5280 feet.

i also can't find google map on my diamond
but i look at the touch diamond manual it says start -setting - google maps

Google maps don't come pre-installed on the Diamond.
You need to download the program yourself from Google maps website!!!
Note: You cannot use Google maps if your Diamond is not connected to the internet.

actually my friend you're a half wrong. Yes googlemaps do come pre-installed, but just in news ROOM. Like who bought the phone with 1.37 for up came with GOOGLEMAPS pre-installed, also who bought the phone with 1.35 for down don't came with. (exemple: me, i bought the phone with room 1.34). Did you get it? I hope it help a lot of people..

Just for finish, it ins't a problem, cause like you said anyone can donwload it on googlemaps mobile site.

As long as you use internet explorer and not the opera browser to download it (you will get error messages with opera)

There was no google maps on my diamond just microsoft and sprint and they wanted $9.95 a month for some ridiculous service. I went to google homepage clicked on maps and downloaded it free. I think it is the best map software and easiest to use that I have found. Works great with the installed GPS reciever

my htc diamond is TWO DAYS OLD. google is in not pre-installed and i was not able to download using the new browser that came with the phone (open media something or another). i had to launch good ol'explorer, download maps that way. works like a charm. even got the GPS to wolrk with google maps. went into google maps setting and set the port to com4, and ensured the same in the phone settings under external gps

you can go to the site < m.google.com/maps > from your phone to install a mobile version. works great.
