Problem with the headphones

The hands-free headphones that come with Sprint Touch-Pro has unpredictable volume. The volume sometimes is so loud that it even beats the inbuilt speaker. It becomes so loud and shrill that you can clearly hear even when the ear buds are a few feet away. This happens intermittently only during a few calls (especially if the caller has a landline) and nothing you do will bring the volume down. Do you find this valuable?
