That is the standard official answer, because it is the easy answer. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com and go into the Excalibur forum, and you will find plenty of information on loading ROMs on this device. You will most likely have to SIM/CID unlock your phone and then load a WM5 version that you will find from users in that forum.

Also, I presume you are running a Dash with the T-Mobile WM6. I found that version to be buggy, and I presume that is why you are looking to go back to WM5. I was getting ready to downgrade to WM5 also, but before I did I tried the HTC version of WM6 and it works fine. All my issues were solved, so I no longer need to go back to WM5.

I have problems with WM6 as well. After upgrading from WM5, I lost the ability to sync to my work's email exchange server. I had to contact AT&T directly, who connected me to HTC. Finally HTC was able to provide the download for the ROM for the WM5 downgrade:

Dude, you're a lifesaver! I was told by HTC that it wasn't possible to downgrade.

I attempted to downgrade my T-Mobile Dash but it did not work. I received a message Error 270 - the image file is corrupted.

Is this because I'm with Tmobile and not att?

I found a WM 5.0 ROM image and downgraded my T-Mobile Dash from 6.0 to 5.0. Hopefully now it does not die on me during conversations.

That link must have been taken down. It's not working.. does anyone have the exe file? I did the upgrade to WM6 and I desperately need to downgrade because I couldn't access the service menu with the upgrade.
Please help- [email protected].
