Active Sync 4.5 gave my XP PC a DNS error

After loading WM6 on my 8525, I was propted to load AS 4.5 on my home PC. After that....no internet access unless you type the IP #'s into the address bar in IE. Yes, I tried to ping both IP# (they work) and DNS name (didn't work using START-RUN-CMD-Ping. I have WIFI using a laptop and 8525. just not the desktop PC. I tried winsocXPfix and decrappifier, a multitude of registry fix softwares and a whole new LAN card, still no internet using domain names. Any thing else I can do?
