MP3s on HTC s720 Stop Playing

I have a problem with my s720. After using Windows Media on my XP PC to sync music, windows media player on my phone will only play the first 5-10 seconds of each song. I thought this may be a DRM issue, but I ripped a cd that i purchased and they will not play either.

Are there any known solutions for this? Do you find this valuable?
