HTC Fuze Ringtone Problem

I updated to the latest ROM today, before I was able to drag and drop music files into my ringtone folder and use the songs as a ringtone. After the update, I can do the same thing, but when I go to select it as a ringtone or set it as a ringtone, it does not either list it in the drop down menu or sets windows media player as a ringtone. Any reasons why?

I spoke to someone from HTC and they told me that because of At&t request they only allow use to use custom ring tones of 300kb or lower and there is no way to go back on the rom update to change this they told me you would have to fing a ring tone trimmer software.
