Phone shuts off randomly

Hi Guys :)

First post here.. Here's a problem with my phone. It keeps on shutting off at random times. Also, to note, it shuts off also when it is dropped or even takes a minor bump.

Anyone else with this problem? solutions? could be the battery? I had htc touch since december 2007....

any reponse much appreciated. thanks! Do you find this valuable?
