RE: QuickGPS Jun 4 2008, 10:22 AM EDT Here's what worked for me on the ATT Tilt with the same QuickGPS issue. I had previously installed KaiserTweak on my Tilt -- run Kaiser Tweak, scroll down to QuickGPS (its under Tools) and select it, then select OEM Settings (the other choice is called BAD, go figure). RE: QuickGPS - connection failed Sep 1 2008, 2:22 PM EDT I may have a workaround - after some experimentation I discovered that I still could download while in Active Sync mode (so it wasn't quite dead). I also discovered that the file it tries to download is http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin (it also will try for urls with xtra2 and xtra3 as prefix). Using this URL in Internet Explorer I could download sucessfully as a normal file. The interesting thing was that after Internet Explorer could download the file - so could QuickGPS. It seems that flipping between an Active Sync connection and a cellular connection some settings are retained causing the failure. Finally it seems you don't actually need to download the file from explorer - just cancel the request when it asks you to save etc. So, in summary, set the URL up as a favorite in IE - run it, cancel the save and then run QuickGPS. I hope this works for you guys as well 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
