Hermes vs Wizard

Sounds like you have the Hermes model not the Wizard pictured above; To hard reset, hold down the two soft key buttons directly below the screen, and press the reset pin.You will be presented with a menu saying 'press R to reset, X to exit'. 21 out of 23 found this valuable. Do you?

My 8525 just died completely... I don't think it was the battery, because my battery has been working just fine before-- is there a way to do a hard reset w/o it being powered on?

If the above instructions don't work, you may have a bad battery or a bad phone. Try replacing your battery (cheapest option) or maybe a store will let you borrow a battery for 5 minutes to see if that's the problem.
