"Do you need to have internet/data plan for the gps to work?? Thanks in advance. "That depends on what GPS software you are using; some rely on GPRS to get info. If the appliation you are using (like TomTom) has maps that get loaded on your device then no. If you use something like Telenav, that app needs to connect to the data netowrk to validate the address first and then uses the GPS to get the rest of the data. |

"thanks for the reply. where do i get the tomtom app from and how much is it? thanks againWe found tomtom5 on ebay and payed $30.00. It was necessary to talk to a TomTom tech for a number string. It works extremely well on the 8525, without connecting to ATT outrageous data fees. The Satalite data is supplied with an external bluetooth "dongle". |

Tom Tom 7 works. But on the HD you have to disable the AGPS as mine kept making a data connection until I disabled this. |
