Unable to download supported files or unsupported files

I emailed myself a 3gp file and had to use the Browser to access my GMail account. Unfortunately the browser says "the content being downloaded is not supported on the phone" though 3gp is supported. They need to allow the browser to download any file format. This really blows having to wait to connect my phone to a pc. Sometimes i need access to the files while on the road or before i get to a destination where i can use a secure pc to connect and download the files...... Do you find this valuable?
