HTC Touch Pro T7272 speaker problems.

hi! i just had my HTC Touch Pro for a week, but the speaker (back) is making weird cracking sounds and the battery is required to be pushed down in order for the speaker to work.
If i plug in the headphone (supplied by HTC), it works normally. Does anyone has the same prob?? Do you find this valuable?
