Windows Mobile 6.1 for Alltel Aug 1 2008, 3:43 AM EDT Does anyone have any idea when Alltel and HTC will get on the ball and release Windows Mobile 6.1 for the Touch and PPC-6800. We both know it is bound to be out soon considering HTC made the stupid move of removing the ROM for 6.0 from their support site. When exactly is the release date though since nobody seems to want to answer questions regarding it. Rather hard to update our phones or reflash them without software. Even windows Mobile 6.0. 14 out of 15 found this valuable. Do you? |

When I talked with the Alltel rep she told me that they have recalled this version of OS6.1 because of two many bugs (typical MS) and that I should call MS directly to find out more. I like all of the new features but I'm afraid to do so...so I wanted to know if anyone else has had good or bad luck with this upgrade???? 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

It's a radio issue causing problems while roaming, and it's not too many bugs, it's one bug that ticks off whenever somebody leaves their home area. On the subject of "estimated time of availability" the software is already with HTC according to my sources. We are waiting for HTC to release it. If they took down the old downloads this means that the software is READY. Business 101, unless HTC is trying to prove they fail. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I haven't determined definitively what the first one has, updated radio? I would be nice if Alltel/HTC would get their act in gear and post the release version of 6.1 Pro since they obviously had it close a few months ago. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

So they do have everything to release 6.1 the only question is when and if or are they just waiting to release a new phone and force and upgrade. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

This sucks really being told in July that the wm 6.1 would be out in two weeks and now it's been over ttwo months 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

Just use a custom rom.. they are better anyway. checkout forum.xda-developers.com DCD 3.2.6 is the current DCD rom, and they work for all carriers... you can also download roms from the website someone listed above (That happens to be MY webserver.. ;) ) http://x51.nx-1.com/titan/ Do you find this valuable? |
