Has anyone used the built in GPS Jan 29 2008, 10:09 AM EST Hi all, I was wondering if anyone was able to use the internal GPS in the P4000.... I read on the HTC site that sprint and HTC will be launching a ROM update to enable GPS. It would be fantastic to no have to buy a blue tooth unit. Take care Nelson Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Has anyone used the built in GPS Feb 7 2008, 7:04 PM EST I have it active on my Telus branded P4000. GPS that is. google xda developers. Use is at your own risk as I have no hand in creating it. It works very well, too. The rom is available for all Titan based phones (p4000, ppc6800 etc). Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Has anyone used the built in GPS Feb 11 2008, 10:28 PM EST I read about lots of people having problems with other stuff not working... has this happened to the folks that upgraded? Do you find this valuable? |

RE: Has anyone used the built in GPS Feb 12 2008, 3:41 AM EST There are assorted other issues with these non-standard ROM updates - most notably, I think are weaker signal, more frequent dropping back to 1X, and programs installed to the card not running after a soft reset... I've experienced a bit of the 1X drop now and then, nothing too severe, but had no problem running apps from the card. Again, check the threads at ppcgeeks.com and xda-developers.com; the latter in particular has threads dedicated to the different versions of the ROM with a lot of active discussion. RE: Has anyone used the built in GPS Feb 22 2008, 3:31 PM EST I use my internal GPS on my Mogul with Garmin Mobile XT. Very frustrating because every time I launch Garmin XT, it changes my system clock to something like 5 days ago at 7pm. Then I get all of my old appointments pop up and my tracking information is screwed up because of the time.. It's definitely Garmin that's having a problem with the pre release rom. Well I guess that's what I get for using the keygen to be able to use the maps with my built in gps instead of using the receiver. It's still worth it! I rather not use the receiver and have my 8gb sdhc not the preloaded sd from garmin. Do you find this valuable? |
