I know that the T-Mobile dash has a free update to Windows Mobile 6.0. I know that the Rogers S621is pretty much the same phone. Can I use the T-mobile free update? Does anyone know when the update comes out on on the Microsoft website?

Well, I bought a s621 cause I´ve seen that this model will be updatable to WM6 but I´v searched a lot and I didn´t founded something about. At the Club HTC recognize my phone as a s620 and of course, I have the same problems than you have.
It´s almost impossible to get some information abut this "Upgrade" and I think that HTC must say when gonna launch the upgrade or if they are having problems tou release it.
Since it happens, I must wait until they do something for give information to custumers and I ask myself why I didn´t bought another smartphone like HP 610 that already includes the WM6.
I hope that the upgrade being available soon as they say...

S621 takes forever to boot |

This problem cropped up shortly after I received an error message telling me that my phone was low on storage space and that I needed to delete some files to make room. I couldn't find anything that needed to be deleted, so I tried the simple expedient of rebooting. Unfortunately, it gets stuck on the Windows Mobile splash screen.
Phone is a European S621, sold unlocked, and upgraded to WM6. It's being used in the US on the AT&T network.

Try removing the battery while the device is still powered on (this is a reset of sorts but wont delete your info). If you can get it to come back on, you will need to free up some memory for the device to function properly, consider getting a storage card.

I noticed on the Rogers Video homepage (http://www.rogersplus.ca/default.asp) that they are advertising the s621 with mobile 6, I called and asked if they will be releasing an upgrade like T-Mobile did. The support staff said they have no intention of doing it.
Any links to an update that works on Rogers?

Wanting to Upgrade HTC branded 621 for SUNCOM network. (page: 1 2) |

I've gotten all the same problems that everyone else has with upgrading to WM6. I've not seen anything from the American HTC site as far as upgrades being available and when I recently checked the WM6 Update was pulled from the European site. I've spoken with Tech Support about 3 weeks ago and they stated it would be out real soon. I've contacted Suncom and they state that the phone vendor has to supply updates. Suncom is not even listed on the HTC america site as a supported company. Although I do see a take over bid from T-Mobile to buy out suncom that should be completed sometime early next year. I really don't want to wait that long for support... Has anyone tried some of the suggestions for getting WM6 installed for the 621 and did they actually work? Assuming my 621 which is locked is about the same as the Rogers GSM locked 621.

The CID bypass didn't cause any problems with my WIFI, it works perfectly when I upgraded to WM6. But if it is true that the gsmliberty method is less troublesome than perhaps it might be for some people.
But after I purchased a quite expensive smartphone plus essential accessories, $30.00 here and there quickly adds up. Also, I'm a geek who prides myself in figuring out how to do things in an unconventional manner. :-)

all you have to do is get a regeditor, and add the following "Rotation" under HKLM\System\GDI\
e.g. [HKLM\System\GDI\Rotation]
Then Add this dword.
"LandscapeMode"=0
