When I first got my touch pro, GPS did not work. I called Telus and HTC and both were not able to confirm if the GPS was locked to Telus Navigator. However I insisted on trying to connect to satellites using the default settlings: COM 4, auto, 4800. Eventually google maps connected with 8 satellites. It took a very long to connect (days!); however it eventually did, and now everytime I load google maps it picks up a satellite signal in 1-2 minutes. I've recently installed TOMTOM Navigator and it works great. You must be patient for it to work the first time using google maps. If google maps times out when searching for satellites, try a different location or reset your device.
