Headset Problems - Microphone Won't Work
I recently bought a new headset for my T-Mobile MDA. I bought a 2.5mm 2 pin headset which should work according to the specifications. The exact headset can be found at http://www.coolerexpress.com/rf3anhevemoc.html.
The problem is, the microphone won't work. If I use it with another cell phone (e.g. Motorola), everything is working great. The headset that came with the MDA (a 2.5 mm 2 pin headset) is working fine too. Anybody has any idea what might be wrong? Do I need a specific adapter to get it to work?

you have to be careful when purchasing headsets for HTC phones... the wiring is different compared to other brands.
for motorola rokr, the wiring is mic, left, right, ground, but for my HTC wizard it is left, right, mic, ground... I tried many headsets "out there", all of them only play sound on the right side... in your case you probably got the speaker and mic swapped... if you have the electornics know-how, you can splice the cable and rewire them correctly see if it fix the problem (I didn't try that tho) |

HTC devices often use the same 2.5mm plug configuration as the Palm Treos. I went to my local Best Buy and tried a few that worked like a charm!
