Hi all,
I will be buying my Tytn II Shortly and noticed that the main problem with users here is Egypt is that they cannot use SATNAV as there are no maps for the tomtom software for cairo.
Can any body guide me to a company who makes the software and provides the maps (with updates)

I just recently bought the Tilt and the whole LCD screen cracked while the phone was in my pocket, just sitting there, minding its own business. Now the touch screen does not work. AT&T told me that I couldn't buy insurance for the phone (because the phone is too epensive and people easily fraud the company). So now I am at a loss for what to do. I do not have insurance, I can't return it because it is cracked and the cheapest replacement for the screen I have found is for $200. Is there anything I can do? I feel like I have been thrown into a messy situation with no fault of my own! HELP!

"im kinda new to this so i would hope one of you can explain this to me step by step as if i was a five year old. i tried to download http://www.4shared.com/file/82034868/8bd01b62/Advanced_Configuration_Tool_v33.html to my phone and it said it was not a valid thing. then i did it to my computer but im not quite sure what i do after i download it. like four things come up? im lost. any help would be appreciated. thanks. and when i try to extract it says its not a valid win32 app? like i said im a newbee and any help for dummies would be appreciated. and with a whole other issue is there a way i can use my wi fi on my phone on a consistant basis? it works whenever it wants to but i can always connect to the 3g network. just the wifi is giving me a problem. i go into connections and uncheck medianet but it doesnt work. "

When you download the .CAB file for Advanced Config 3.3. transfer that to your device using ActiveSync. You can store it in a file on your storage card so you don't use device memory. Go to the device and use File Explorer to find the CAB file on the storage card and tap on it to execute it. Make sure you install .NET Compact Framework 3.5 before you install AC3.3

When I downloaded Blackberry onto my AT&T Tilt memory card the phone froze. It will not reset. Always goes back to Green Windows Mobile page. Any ideas?

You should exchange the phone for a new one. I have 4 Tilts being used in my company. We had various freezing problems while running WM6.0 (1.57) which improved with WM6.0 (1.62). When we loaded WM6.1 that seemed to solve all the freezing problems. I have just upgraded to the Fuze and it works well, except for some Bluetooth/Voice Command conflict problems (which HTC is working on). I wouldn't hesitate to get another Tilt or upgrade to the Fuze. The higher resolution screen on the Fuze is really nice, but the smaller format makes the QWERTY keyboard too small for me. I personally am waiting for the HTC Touch Pro 2 which should arrive in the US in Q3,2009. Unfortunately, I'm hearing it will go to T-Mobile not AT&T. Hopefully AT&T will wake up.

I am using a Jawbone (original) with my unlocked Tilt. It works great except for one thing. It will only allow me to answer incomming calls from the headset even if the headset is turned off and put away. What I want is for the call to go to the headset if the headset is on but to default to the handset if the headset is off. My venerable old Motorolla V600 had no problem with this so I figure there must be a way to do it with the Tilt? I really don't want to have to go into menus and turn off bluetooth every morning when I get to work (I generally only use the headset when driving).

I'm just wondering if anybody can please explain to me how the built in GPS receiver works on the Tilt 8925. Is an internet connection always required to use the GPS? (I need a connection to use Google Maps). Is there a way I can use the GPS without an internet connection like how a Garmin device works? Any help/answers will be greatly appreciated..thanks in advance!

The Internet Connection is going to be dependant on what GPS Software you are using. If it is one that has maps that you load on your device (like TomTom), you dont need internet access. If you are using a GPS Software that needs to validate addresses against a server (like Telenav) then you will need the internet connection.
Google Maps requires an internet connection also.

I just downloaded and updated my Tilt ROM from HTC to the lastest version which is Mobile 6.1. However, I noticed that in my contacts, I am now missing the option to do voice tags for voice command dialing (which I did have and could do with Mobile 6). Any suggestions?

I have a question? I downloaded the wm 6.1 to my at&t tilt 8925 and now i am having problems viewing multimedia text message video. I am getting photos without any problem. i am receiving the video but nothing plays. the progression bar at the bottom of the screen acts like it is playing but nothing is happening on the screen. When i download the video to the phone Windows media says it can not play the video. Windows media is playing movie file not related to texting just fine. The video is a 3gp. I even down loaded the video text file to my computer to make sure that the file was ok. I had no problem viewing it on my desktop. Any ideas?

My husband is a volunteer fire chief and I got the Tilt for his Christmas gift...he has to be able to reach all his fire fighters at one time...he needs to group text. Has anyone accomplished this even if it was with some additional soft ware. If the design team is reading this you made a great pnone group texting works on simple phones why not the Tilt? If any one can help me I would gratly appreciate it.

A simple way I use is to create the list of recipients tediously (as above, using MENU- ADD etc etc). Copy the entire list from the message. Then create a seperate contact and paste all the numbers into the 'NOTE' section. Just use copy and paste every time I want to send a group text.

Thank you for responding. I do have windows media player, rings, etc... The problem I had was only related when playing video recorded with the phone's camera, there was no sound. I bought a software SKTools and somehow I have audio now. Once again thank you for responding. Does anyone know how to best use this software, that is, SKTools?

i've had that problem too after upgrading to 6.1. from what it sounds like it isn't compatable for some reason, but i think over at smartphonejunkie.com there was a fix. not sure though never really looked. i play divx movies on my touch so i downloaded the mobile divx player. works pretty well

We use Exchange Server ActiveSync to synchronize mobile phones with Exchange.
We synchronize perfectly both ways from devices to server and server to devices. We synchronize Contacts, Calendar, Tasks and e-mail with Windows Mobile devices, iPhones and Palm devices.
I upgraded one AT&T Tilt from WM6 to WM6.1 using HTC’s ROM Upgrade. After the upgrade, I get an error when synchronize with Exchange after I create appointments in the WM6.1 device or modify an existing one. The device received all updates from the Exchange Server but changes in the WM6.1 device return an error: “cannot synchronize appointment”
Has anybody seen this?
Any help is appreciated.

I am in and out of metal buildings at work all day long. Whenever I lose signal and service (antenna icon has a ! next to it), the TILT will not keep searching and restore service, even if I go back to a high signal (5 bars) area. The only way to get service back is to go to the wireless manager and unselect then reselect the phone. At that time it begins searching and restores service. I talked to tech support at HTC and they think it is the radio firmware and to wait until a firmware upgrade comes out, which will be when ATT requests changes. This is my second TILT with the same problem. ATT phone store is going to swap it out for a third one as soon as a new batch comes in.

Does anyone know what is the real issue behind this problem. I bought this set from a person who came back from US (HTC AT&T Tilt) and i am using Vodafone Prepaid SIM (Network: VODAFONE IN). But it keeps dropping the signal and says 'No Service'. I changed the SIM card twice and also visited the HTC customer care center in Bangalore, both did not work.

When I try to pair my TILT with the bluetooth, I can get the connection, but once I have added the device, if the car is on and the bluetooth is on, the TILT keeps rebooting. Anyone know why this is and how I could fix it?

I just installed the TOMTOM 6 GPS. BUT WHEN I START THE APPLICATION THERE IS A MESSAGE THAT SAYS: "NO GPS DEVICE"
I though that the HTC TILT could support GPS, even without a data plan, now in case that does not support a GPS without plan. A GPS Antenna will work?
What can I do? I mean I saw GPS devices and they do not pay a cent.

Can anyone tell me what is different between the 8525 Bluetooth profile and the 8925 Bluetooth profiles. In the product spec for the 8525 it says it is compatible with Bluetooth V.2 while the specs for the 8925 show 1.1, 1.2 etc. Does this mean that the 8925 has older bluetooth software. I'm having difficulty using the bluetooth in my 2008 Altima where the 8525 worked fine.

I can't get my ATT Tilt to pair with the hands free in my Toyota Tundra. I also have a Sprint Mogul and have no problem pairing this device.

I had the same problem pairing with my Altima. My 8525 worked great with my 2008 Altima but when I purchased a 8925 it would not work with the 2008 Altima. Something in the Bluetooth supported profiles is different.

i deleted my partnership but my info's still in outlook. now i can't get it to pick up a new partnership. i've erased it from my cpu but whenever i download it again it restores the previous version and i still can't add a new partnership because windows is telling me the device failed. anyone know how to find updated usb drivers my windows drivers say their from 2006 and updated. i'm at a loss as to what's causing the problem i've hard reset my phone so many times i'm loopy.

I have the 3.5" wired headset for my Tilt and the connections are all fine, but after a phone call or text I lose stereo sound in my music player and go to mono. I cancel all notifications and exit out of all programs, but the only way I can get stereo back is to do a soft reset. Is there some setting that hijacks the sound for notifications and doesn't return it afterwards? Any help would be appreciated.
