Google Phone Features

Price: The Google phone is expected to be much cheaper than an iPhone because Google is going after a reduced subscription model, rather gaining revenue from an advertising model where Google will split the ad revenues with the the carrier.

Capabilities: Standard cell phone voice and SMS capabilities, plus easy access to Google services like Google maps, Gmail, Google Search, Blogger and possibly YouTube or Google video. It makes sense that it will also take advantage of wifi hotspots whenever possible.

Software: Despite the hardware devices are not yet out, Google made available the Software Development Kit and announced a developer challenge. There is also an independent directory, which collects 3rd party Free Android Software and another one with Android Freeware.
