sporkbunny | Trouble connecting with GPS receiver | 1 | May 15 2007, 1:07 PM EDT by mushasho | ||

I have a bluetooth GPS receiver (the iBlue), and connecting with it and finding the GPS location is very intermittent. Yes I do this outside, not indoors. I had to install the GPS Setting on the Settings>Connections page (for some reason, it wasn't already there like it was on my friend's MDA, purchased at roughly the same time) and this was a scary thing I had to do in a registry editor. Since then, I have been able to pair the receiver and the MDA via Bluetooth but when you go into a GPS program (like Windows Live), the program cannot seem to locate the GPS receiver. I have set the GPS com port to match the com port on the bluetooth pairing ... I heard rumor that bluetooth devices don't stay paired very well ... and I'm wondering if there is some sort of conflict between the program port and the hardware port or something .. help!
