MiniSD card not recognized |

I've had my 2125 for about 10 months, and I finally got around to getting a miniSD card. Kingston 1Gb. I put it in the phone, but the phone still thinks it doesn't have enough memory. When I try to "sync" music from my PC to the phone using MediaPlayer, it tells me not enough memory. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Gregg

I sent the phone for repair to HTC and they called me and gave me an estimate of 129$ - hahahahah. they even don't bother to look around the internet and see that new sealed unlocked is available for 80-100 $. Keep in mind that i still have the warranty. DON'T YOU THINK THAT HTC SUCKS?

I have been getting a message 10-20 times a day saying I have inadequatememory and need to delete some files. I have no photos, no audio files, no movies, no 3rd party programs on the phone and have deleted everything I can find. I also have a 256 meg memory card that I use for everything I can. Why do I get this message all the time. t is very annoying.

all of you are geniuses. I stopped into the TMobile store (a real store, not an affiliate) and four people couldn't figure it out (none of them could tell me how to see system resources used, either). tech support could not either.
this thread here helped me clear out the phone so the messages went away. brilliant. just brilliant. i was ready to pay the abandonment fee and go to another carrier just to not have to deal with this horrible device.

I love my phone... so far I have not been able to find one that I would like more. Well this morning when I went to use it, it was dead.. no biggie right? Well when I plugged it in the charger all I got was a steady red light. It won't power up, and the only sign of life is the steady red light when I plug it in. Anyone have any ideas? Is it toast or what?
Thank you!

I recently had to return to using a favorite phone of mine, the Cingular 2125, after I had returned a company phone. It is running Windows Mobile 5.0. I need to upgrade it to WM 6 or 6.1, but I can find no where on the internet that I can download an upgrade, either for free or for a fee. I am past the 10/31/08 deadline to download from htc.com, but I want to continue using this phone with the latest OS possible. Please help. Anyone able to post a link to a third-party site I can download a legal, verified upgrade?

"Unlock" function; free storage space (page: 1 2) |

My phone is very frustrating. When I go to answer 30% of calls, the phone indicates "Unlock" and I loose my caller or they go to voicemail. 50% of the time, my phone will revert to "Unlock" after a call is comleted. There is no rhyme or reason to it. I have tried to remove the "unlock" via the keypads, but it does not take. I have had three Cingular phone reps try to unlock this feature, and they cannot do it. UGHHHHHH! Help!
\
Also, a message keeps coming up on my screen that says :"ALERT! Your phone is running low on free storage space......" But, I cannot find how to free up more storage space! Help again!

"You just said the magic words: "sync with my exchange server".
What you can do, since all your contacts, e-mail, taksks, etc. are stored on a server, you can just perform a MASTER RESET on your phone and that will erase all data and restore it back to factory settings with lots of free memory. After that, you just simply plug in your exchange server settings to resync your data back from the server, The Master Reset should also fix those Unlock issues with your phone and the other problems you have with it as well.
ALSO, there are a couple of other things you can try PRIOR to doing a master reset. If you do a lot of web browsing you can try clearing the "temporary internet files", "cookies", and "history". You can do this by going to Start->Internet Explorer->Menu->
->Options->Memory. You can also try removing any third party programs that you have installed. Lastly, if you have dowloaded any ringtones before go to File explorer->Applications data->sounds, and delete any ones you don't need."
Thanks. Clearing internet history and reducing time to keep pages in history from thirty to seven days gave me back 18MBs and got read of the recurring annoyance.

Answer/Ignore soft keys during incoming call. |

Thread started: Sep 22 2006, 7:10 PM EDT Watch
During an incoming call, the soft keys duplicate the fixed answer and end buttons. The problem is that since these buttons are raised, they are very easy to push while getting the phone out of the case and they are active even when the phone is in keylock. Half the time my phone rings, it is either answered or sent straight to voice mail before I can get it out of the case. HTC- PLEASE GIVE US A FIRMWARE UPDATE THAT CAN DISABLE THE SOFTKEYS DURING AN INCOMING CALL!

I agree this is very annoying. Best solution I have found is to set a password lock on the phone. This way the "accept" and “reject" soft keys are much smaller and seemingly are not inadvertently activated when removing device from the case. The call can be ended by pressing the 'hard' end call key without the irritation of having to enter the PIN.

I'm having the same thing. Yelling in the microphone produces a soft sound. I first thought it was dirt, so i tried to clean it out with some compressed air (was that a bad idea?) and it actually worked for a while...however often it started making some noise as if there was a contact loose or something, and now i'm back with no sound at all. I see tons of dead threads on this issue, but does anyone have a solution? Or does anyone know what is the problem? I'm about to revert back to my "good old" nokia 6310i... at least i could CALL!

"I have read that Cingular 8125 supports or should I say works with class 2 memory i.e. 4gb SDHC.
Any comments.
Much appreciated.
Perry"
SDHC = Class 4 Memory
SD = Class 2 Memory
Thus SDHC will NOT work.

Perhaps the pictures being received on your device are too big? Do you get any error messages when you try to download the MMS?

Two possible problems: 1, you need to set the phone so that music is stored on the storage card (the default is the phone's internal memory), or 2, the storage card is not fast enough when it comes out of sleep mode (power-saving mode), and so the phone does not recognize it is there.

Sent the phone in for repair and now... |

Thread started: Oct 17 2006, 8:02 PM EDT Watch
Well I posted a comment earlier about how it was impossible to get my 2125 fixed because there is no source for parts (this includes HTC), and the cost of repair through Cingular is the same as buying a new one on eBay (of course who would buy a second one if they know that the cost of having something break is having to buy a third.)
Several days after the posting I received an email from Jeremy Setliff, who was the individual that told me HTC does not sell parts, saying that HTC would fix the phone for free. I should just send it to them and the turn around would be 5 business days.
According to the USPS the phone was delivered to HTC on 10/6/06. I even got an email from a Steven Wu at HTC to send him my phone number, which I did along with calling him on 10/9 to make sure everything is going okay. I'm pretty sure that the thing got to them. It is now 10/17 and still no phone. So much for the 5 day theory.
I guess in one way I didn't really loose anything except the cost of shipping the phone to Houston with insurance and delivery confirmation. A broken phone is pretty much worthless.

"Moving the Contact file (usually a .csv file) isnt really going to work since it will not be accessible unless imported on the device for he Contacts application to access. You may want to save as many of the contacts as you can on your SIM Card to free sup some of the devices internal memory; I think the SIM's can house 250 contacts."
I thought I could do that but when you open an individual contact there is not an option to move or save to the SIM card.

This phone is a tank and can take tons of abuse. Not only has it dropped out of my pocket while skateboarding, but my 1 yearold likes to bang it on the furnature. 3 months ago, it got sent through the wash and I thought it was ruined... I took out the battery, sim, and mini-sd and let it dry, then plugged the battery back in and waiited. Two days later, the indicator light started blinking again. I had to flash the memory as it was stuck in 'flight mode', but it has worked perfectly since then. Unbelievable.
